This week's birthdays celebrities know that life isn't always a piece of cake. They face the same struggles and disappointments as we all do; so get over it already.

Mia Farrow   Mia Farrow (2/9/1945) - 64.  Named Maria de Lourdes Villiers-Farrow by parents, film director John Farrow and actress Maureen O'Sullivan. Farrow's claim to fame began when she played Allison MacKenzie in the nighttime soft opera Peyton Place. She starred in Roman Polanski's thriller Rosemary's Baby in 1968. At 21, she married 50 year old Frank Sinatra.  After she refused his demand to quit work on a film, she cut her waist-long hair and he, in turn, served her with divorce papers.  True to her independent nature, Mia went to India and lived in an ashram of the Maharishi. Two years later, Farrow married pianist André Previn; they divorced nine years later.  In 1980, Mia hooked up with Woody Allen. Their relationship endured for twelve years until Allen began an affair with Farrow's adopted daughter Soon-Yi. Farrow promptly ended her relationship with both Allen and Soon-Yi.  Mia has four biological children and ten adopted children, minus Soon-Yi. She is a Darfur activist and has started MiaFarrow.org to bring light to the conflicts of the region.  Best line:  I get it now; I didn't get it then. That life is about losing and about doing it as gracefully as possible and enjoying everything in between.

Joe Pesci   Joe Pesci (2/9/1943) 66. Pesci started working in plays at the age of five.  At ten he was a regular on the TV show Startime Kids. His claim to fame came in Raging Bull, which was followed by Once Upon A Time In AmericaGoodfellas, Casino, Home Alone and My Cousin Vinny. Overly encouraged to act by his father who wanted his son to be more than a laboror, Pesci has expressed regret at his arranged career. Pesci married three times but refuses to discuss the unions and his personal life is a bit of a mystery to his many fans.  His first wife Claudia Haro gave birth to this only child, Tiffany.  Best line:  My daughter is the one really great thing that came out of my early life. I'm a good father now. I wish I'd been a good one back then.
