Just a Little History
In 1930, medical doctor and surgeon, Edward Bach gave up his lucrative London medical practice in search of a natural system of medicine.
He found that system in the plants and flowers he studied. But most interesting was Dr. Bach's approach to healing: through the mental or emotional state of the patient.
His method to change his patient's attitude and focus on suffering instead of disease was, and still is, unorthodox. Yet Dr. Bach's remedies have endured over 70 years after his death. In fact, the Dr. Edward Bach Centre in Mount Vernon Oxfordshire actively supports his work and the Bach Foundation continues to register Practitioners all around the world.
What are Bach Remedies?
There are 38 remedies (dilutions of flower essence) in the Bach collection from Agrimony (mental torture behind a cheerful facade) to Willow (self-pity and resentment) and one mixed potion called Rescue Remedy for times of crises and emergencies.
Take the remedies in mineral water, two drops at a time, four times a day. It's common to take six or seven different remedies at the same time but more won't do any harm. The remedies are perfectly safe and without side effects except on very rare occasion a mild allergic skin rash.
How Do Bach Remedies Work?
The remedies work by flooding out negative feelings and emotions, which sounds a bit of a scam on the surface. Studies have shown that Bach remedies have nothing more than the placebo effect. Do Bach Remedies Work?
Yes, but not on the frequency found in pharmaceuticals. Flower essences are vibrational medicine. They assist in the healing of our subtle energy body; the one we're not often conscious of.
